Course Description
The study of social behavior develops awareness on the condition of one’s personality, emotional characteristics and metal capacities. It shall focus on the character development in relation to the environment of professionals in the hospitality industry.

Course Rationale
The topics in this course are anchors to understand public relations in hotel and restaurant industry. Common topics on personality development are used to expound and relate them to PR. It gives align students’ personality to what are expectations of the industry in terms of relating to public. It reviews common terms in personal and social psychology to advance concepts and applications of public relations in HRM.

Course Objectives
A.  General Objective:
To discuss fundamental terms and concepts in personality development and relate them to public relations, in particular the hotel and restaurant industry.

B.  Specific Objectives:
1.  Cognitive:

Define terms in personality development
Research topics on personality development
2.  Affective:
Connect the terms and concepts in personality development in public relations
Understand the students readiness in becoming a HRM professional
3.  Psychomotor:
Practice PR and improve one’s personality
